The two local public high schools are in the Mountain View Los Altos High School District (MVLA). They are Mountain View High at 3535 Truman Avenue in Mountain View, and Los Altos High at 201 Almond Avenue in Los Altos. Eighth grade students attending the Mountain View Whisman School District are usually pre-enrolled for the transition to ninth grade in MVLA and will receive registration and orientation information in the mail from their assigned high school.

Summer School
The Mountain View Los Altos High School District summer school program is designed, with few exceptions, for students who are credit deficient, who have failed a class required for graduation or college admission or who require remediation to meet high school exit standards. Signups for all students are on a first-come, first-served basis.
