Hello Crittenden Families,
I hope this communication finds you well.
For those of you who have chosen Blended learning, we are looking forward to welcoming our students back on campus. Careful planning has gone into bringing back all of the students into our buildings. As we prepare for our students to return to the school campus, we have worked with district leadership and our staff over the course of the last few months to gather feedback and identify protocols surrounding the safety, educational, social, and the emotional needs of our students and families. We are waiting to welcome our students back at Crittenden. We are ready! I’m looking forward to seeing you virtually at 6pm today for an important meeting about reopening information. You can register for this Zoom meeting here.

Executive Functioning Tip of the week: Skill: Fostering Independence
Adolescents who are encouraged to take charge for themselves—even if they mess up—turn into independent, resilient young adults able to handle life’s ups and downs. One way to foster independence is to make middle schoolers responsible for tasks they can do for themselves. Think about what your adolescent can be doing on their own and how you can foster that independence. For example, folding their own laundry or making their own lunches. As your adolescent gets comfortable with handling some tasks independently, look for more things they can do. A helpful rule of thumb: If it’s a task your adolescent can do—or almost do—on their own, they (and not you) could be doing it. And remember: You’re still the coach. If your adolescent messes up, step back in and coach them through the process again, then step away. Repeat as necessary.
We know these are exceptional times right now. Please know that Crittendedn teachers and staff are committed to providing a strong, fun, engaging, enriching learning experience for all our students blended and connected.
I want to extend my gratitude to all families for your continued support and grace as we navigate through this school year.
Crittenden Panthers learning together, wherever we are.

Women’s History Month
In the month of March, we are celebrating Women’s History. BetterTogether recognizes the people, movements, and ideas that challenge expectations and gender stereotypes that negatively affect us all. From women’s suffrage to the gender equality movements of modern day, it has become clear that when we all fight gender inequality, we all win. Celebrate this month by having meaningful conversations with your students, your children, and your fellow s(heroes). In addition to the infographic, this month we will also be highlighting amazing women from our organization and learning about the s(heroes) that have inspired their own commitment to gender equality.
For a closer look at this month’s infographic, click on the attached flyers or visit https://www.mvwsd.org/bettertogetherMVWSD.
